Guardianship & Conservatorship

At Thies Cook and Rohde, we are here to assist your family in the difficult situation when a beloved family member can no longer independently care for themselves or adequately manage normal activities of daily living, due to physical or mental conditions, rendering them vulnerable and in need of support. In such situations, Thies Cook and Rohde can help family and friends walk through the guardianship and conservatorship process to determine the best ways to protect and provide for the vulnerable and incapacitated loved one. Once the proper course of action is identified, Thies Cook and Rohde can also assist you in the court process of obtaining a guardianship and/or conservatorship.

After appointment as the guardian and conservator, you will be able to make decisions regarding the vulnerable and incapacitated adult's best interests relating to their placement, medical care, food, clothing and education. The goal of obtaining a guardianship and/or conservatorship is to ensure the vulnerable and incapacted adult’s person and property is cared for to provide the best quality of life possible.
